Concept 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Hyundai tuner ARK performance will bring a modified Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec to the 2012 SEMA show this fall. Like other Hyundais tuned for the aftermarket show, ARK Performance will upgrade the Genesis Coupes performance and aesthetics. While Hyundai already improved the Genesis Coupes 3.8-liter V-6 for 2013 by adding direct-injection, the SEMA show car gets bumped another 47 hp and 45 lb-ft of torque (now at 395 hp and 340 lb-ft) with a Brian Crower 4.2-liter stroker kit enhanced by an intake, oil cooler, lightweight pullies, and ceramic-coated headers from ARK performance. To handle the addition power, the drivetrain has been upgraded with an ARK carbon plate clutch kit with a limited-slip differential from Cusco. Nitto NT05 tires wrapped around Yokohama ADVAN RS2 alloy wheels put the power to the ground. A six-piston Big Brake kit front and rear brings the customized Genesis Coupe R-Spec to a stop. No SEMA show car would be complete without wild interior and exterior modifications.

Outside, the Genesis Coupe now sports a carbon fiber hood with heat extractor vents and a carbon wing out back. An aggressive front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear overfenders create a widebody effect. A custom interior from JPM Coachworks features a Sparco steering wheel and racing seats finished in red, while Cusco supplies the eight-point roll cage.
No estimated performance figures were provided for the modified Genesis Coupe, but during our 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track First Test, we were able to reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, run the standing quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds at 102.2 mph while the stock brakes brought the coupe to a stop in 112 feet. The 2013 Genesis Coupe also pulled 0.91 g around the skidpad.
The ARK performance modified Hyundai Genesis Coupe is just the latest show car from the Hyundai-tuner: last year, ARK Performance brought to the SEMA show a modified Hyundai Veloster with custom turbocharger and wild exterior modifications.
Cosworth-Tuned 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
A Cosworth-tuned Hyundai Genesis Coupe will join the Genesis Coupe R-Spec modified by ARK Performance at the 2012 SEMA Show. Known as the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series (CGRS), the modified coupe will feature the prerequisite performance and appearance upgrades expected at the show. Cosworth boosted the Genesis Coupe 3.8-liters power output to 389 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque - up 41 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque - thanks to better heat, air, and engine controls management. The suspension and braking systems have also been updated. Outside, special blue paint sets off the body kit with integrated lip and trunk lid spoilers, and a rear valance. Of course, the interior has also received show car trim updates with specially-finished two-tone sports seats. 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Cosworth Genesis Racing Series CGRS 2012 SEMA show car right rear image 11 300x187 imageHeres the full list of CGRS Genesis Coupe modifications straight from Hyundai:
